Anyone there?

Is there anyone left that simply wants to write, or read? I feel that, most days, it’s like the whole world can’t help but inject their unwanted political opinion in everything.
The tanking of several big movie franchises, and more, seem to be the direct result of constantly shoe-horning subject matter into the script or film that have nothing to do with the plot. I’m aware, painfully , of what my peers think and spout regarding their new-found political awareness.
I don’t care for it in every setting. I believe art can be used to make such statements, but if you are writing / recording/filming a fictional escape from reality, it should strive to do just that, and keep one there as long as possible.
When I’ve written a character, I write for them. They may have political opinions or thoughts towards subject matter that exists in the real world but I make certain that it’s THEIR point of view, not mine. I’ve written some posts /discussions on this before, particularly focusing on the fact that I would never create a character that reflects me or my own goals/opinions for that simple reasons alone, (*I have Ever Something to Say for that LOL.) For the most part, I think you can (and should be able to) separate a person’s personal life/opinions from their art.
When you pick up a book and read the blurb, you get a glimpse into the story; whether or not it’s something you would like. It sucks to be slapped in the face with some half-brained strong and annoying political opinion within the narrative, or something you weren’t expecting, because it’s clear the subject has been squeezed into places where it has no business being. It destroys the efforts you’ve spent world-building and sucks the reader/viewer out of the suspend-disbelief vibe because a lot of times it’s crammed in because it can be, not that it should be…and it’s hard to hide that.
If it’s fiction, keep it fiction and don’t unnecessarily dip into non-fiction or a personal soapbox OpEd because you can.
I’ve no problem with someone expressing their opinions (even if they’re ass,) but, if I’m reading something or watching a film and it’s poorly inserted (otherwise the writer will simply burst!)…Ugh.
If you must make comments on things that aren’t related, do it artfully. Please. I’m trying to enjoy your work!
